Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley
8 April 2011
Large quantities of unlicensed medications have actually been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.
A man was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications via the internet.
The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.
He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
The search was carried out by the Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.
"These types of items being offered, typically online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their security.
"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
